JOB
Responsible for the general repairs and maintenance duties as specified by the Parks and Recreation Director or Lead Worker. The laborer is to assist other department personnel in the date to day activities of the Parks Department. All other reasonable duties assigned.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Examples of Work Required: Clean and maintain park facilities.Prep athletic fields (ball diamonds) as directed by Supervisor.Visually inspect park facilities & equipment for problems and report concerns to supervisor when needed.Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.Enforce park ordinances and deter public from inappropriate behavior.Landscape and turf care to include: mowing, trimming, raking, planting shrubbery and flowers, dragging ball fields irrigation, fertiler application, brush removal, etc.Facility maintenance including: cleaning restrooms, shelters and other buildings, repairing playground equipment and replacing surfacing, painting, assisting with building projects.Other park responsibilities as directed by Supervisor.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Physical Requirements: Employee is required to lift heavy objects in excess of 50 lbs. on a regular basis or move 100lbs. Must be able to operate motorized equipment and power tools. Employee must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time while performing operations and other duties as assigned.Working Conditions: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequently interacts with consumers, employees and occasionally contractors via verbal communication. May be required to assist in equipment maintenance or construction work. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
